Rental agreement overview
A Stylist’s Closet is special in so many ways, not the least of which is who we invite in. That means you. You have distinctive tastes, unique fashion needs, and important events. And just like you, many of my pieces are one-of-a-kind. Our rules are simple: our clothing should be respectfully worn, knowing that you are borrowing pieces of an archive collection. We’ll handle the professional dry cleaning (the cost is included in your rental). However, if the item is returned with irreparable damage, your credit card will be charged the Retail Value of the item minus the Rental Fee you previously paid.
We do offer the option to purchase select rented items. Contact us to inquire about purchasing, and we'll provide you with pricing and availability details.
Full legal agreement to be presented and signed during the fitting.
How to care for your rental
Caring for rented, one-of-a-kind dresses and gowns requires us to have a mutual level of understanding. Many of the collection’s dresses are made with delicate fabric and/or intricate beadwork, and they must be treated with respect, responsibility and care.
We adhere to a strict No Alterations Rule. We allow only temporary, non-damaging fixes such as Fashion Tape, strap pins, or toupee tape. Please avoid putting perfume or fragrance directly onto the dress, and we ask that you not use body shimmer, glitter or oils that could stain raw silks or other fabrics. We also ask you not to carry beaded or sequined clutches, and not to wear pronged bracelets or diamond-bezel watches that can snag delicate silk, tulle, or lace on one-of-a-kind or runway pieces.
We ask that you store your rented item(s) in breathable fabric garment bags. If traveling, please transport rented gowns in long, breathable cotton garment bags rather than plastic, which traps moisture and scents. Always hang heavy gowns on nonslip velvet hangers to avoid stretching the shoulder seams or leaving fabric indentations. Please utilize the internal ribbon hanger loops sewn into the waist and/or structural seams of the rented gown to evenly distribute the weight of heavy bodices and skirts. If a gown is entirely covered in heavy beads or crystals, we’ll ask you to store it flat to prevent gravity from tearing the foundation.
Working together, we can ensure that this exclusive collection brings the joy of looking beautiful to hundreds of clients, for years to come.
